PEOPLink.org is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization reducing poverty by linking artisans and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) worldwide to social networks of buyers via e-commerce.  Its main activities are:

  • Guiding artisan and SME networks to promote sales via free catalogs built with our OpenEntry e-commerce platform using Google tools and servers >> Free Catalogs
  • Doubling the income of grass roots artisans in developing countries by actively promoting their sales directly to on-line buyers >> Artisans
  • Helping non-profits activate their social networks to generate referral commissions from purchasing from grass roots artisans>> Fundraise

When asked what single measure he would undertake to confront global poverty, Nobel Prize winning economist, Joseph Stiglitz, replied, "land reform" noting that democratizing the means of production was the path taken by every country that had climbed out of of poverty (Western Europe, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and U.S.).  Land was the means of production of the past - knowledge is the means of production of the future.

PEOPLink.org is a pioneer on democratizating the benefits of Internet facilitated knowledge to SMEs in 44 countries.  In just Nepal, its success in generating 4000 jobs was documented by the United Nations Development Program.  Since SMEs provide the bulk of employment in most countries, the development benefits are potentially revolutionary >> About
